MorrisLive is a free website for playing Nine Men's Morris online with people you know — friends, family, classmates, or a casual opponent across the table or the ocean. Create a room, share a short invite link, and start playing in under a minute. No account, no app install, and no matchmaking queue.
Host a private game with an optional room password, list an open table for anyone to join, invite spectators on a separate watch link, or practice against a computer opponent. Time controls and every legal action are enforced on the server so both sides see the same board, the same clocks, and the same outcome.
We do not offer user accounts, Elo ratings, ranked ladders, or permanent player profiles. MorrisLive is built around a clean mill board and a fast path into a real game — then the room expires when you are done. How MorrisLive earns your trust
Fair play: every place, move, fly, and remove is validated server-side; clocks are owned by the server, not the browser. Illegal clicks are rejected. Disconnects pause that player's clock with a grace period before forfeit, and session tokens restore your seat if you reconnect on the same device. Resign, draw offers, timeout, and rematch follow the same server rules for both sides.
Privacy & safety: no accounts means no email or permanent identity required to play. Room passwords are hashed; open rooms are an explicit choice on create. There is no free-text chat — only preset phrases. Rooms expire after a TTL, and play/watch invite URLs are not indexed as marketing pages. Room creation is rate-limited by IP to reduce spam.
